Cold, refreshing and bright cherry limeade is going to be your favorite summer beverage! This limeade is loaded with cherry flavor and is super simple to whip up for summer barbecues, picnics, and days in the sun! A sweet pitcher should be around all the times!
I am reporting live from windy Chicago! Actually Chicago isn’t our final destination, we’re headed up to Toronto for the week for the hubby’s cousin’s wedding. But a pit stop in Chicago is a must. ♥
I am so happy to get out of Houston for the week, we’ve had at least a full month of dreary weather with no end. To be honest with you, I didn’t know if I’d be able to finish all the yummy posts I wanted to put up during this week and next! But between heavy buckets of rain, we had a few rays of sun that were just enough for me to make you tons of goodies. The rain is there to stay in Houston for the week and boy am I glad to get the heck out of there. I’ll take the 60’s over the hot, humid high 80’s we have in Houston, any day!
But let’s talk about this pucker-your-lips cherry limeade that’s not only refreshing but also super simple to make. It is the most perfect beverage for the summer time.
What sets my cherry limeade recipe apart from the rest, is the fact that it doesn’t contain any soda. We’re talking about simple cherry juice, fresh limes, and sparkling water. The hubby and I sipped on cherry limeades for a few days straight during my testing phase because we just could NOT get enough.
Mason jar drinks and sun, that’s what summer is all about, right?
This limeade is REFRESHING. A thirst quencher for sure. I love that it’s not overly sweetened the way it would be if you used soda, like Sprite or 7Up. Though you could easily replace the simple sugar syrup and the sparkling water with soda, I like being able to control the amount of sugar I like, because i’m all about the pucker. Super sweet limeades are not my thing!
You can either purchase simple syrup at the store, or make your own. To make your own simple sugar syrup, you need to take equal parts sugar and water. I would suggest a cup of each. Place both ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Allow the syrup to cool completely before using in a recipe.
Summers are all about the hot sun, the cool breeze, delicious limeades like this one, and days at the beach.
Let’s let the good time roll.
