I am in love. I am obsessed. I am gaga over this raspberry cream cheese Danish braid!
This braid reminds me of happier/drier times when I wasn’t being rained on or at least threatening to by looming dark clouds.
Ay yai yai!
Just gimme a minute to gather myself (and to lick the final little bit of icing off my sticky fingers and try and attempt to string together coherent sentences)!
Or maybe to pop in another bite or two…
This Danish is distractingly delicious. And as a bonus, wonderfully easy to make! So easy I almost double-dog-dare you to try making it without your first cup of coffee in the morning. That’s right. Totally not kidding around!
So I made this recipe. And then I made it again. And then I made it again and again and again. And of course it was jusssstt to make sure it was absoluteeely perfect for you! No other reason.
No siree!
1…2…3
Egg yolks and cream cheese. Whip. Sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Whip. Fluffy cream cheese mixture… Ready!
Licking the spatula is totally necessary. You must you must you must!
Sally (from Sally’s Baking Addiction) has an excellent tutorial on how to cut strips of the pastry with step by step pictures. Be sure to check that out here.

I made this and everything spilled out :'(
I’m so sorry to hear that! =( Another reader suggested placing one sheet of the crescent roll with the cream cheese mixture on it, then placing a second sheet of the crescent rolls on top and just cutting slits. Hope that helps. I will also try and re picture this or a similar recipe with more step-by-step pictures.
also, you can just place the top layer of dough on top of the bottom layer (once you’ve spread with cream cheese mixture & jam) and cut slits is the dough to expose a little of the filling. same effect, but easier.
very delicious :-‘)
I’ve read the recipe three times and don’t know where the 2 T of sour cream comes into play? Help!
Hi Julie!
You’re right! It’s not in the recipe card! However, it is mentioned in the text above the recipe card. I’m so sorry about that! I’ve gone ahead and added it in. You beat the sour cream in with the cream cheese and egg yolk mixture!
Again, really sorry. Thanks for catching that!
I love this so much!!
Whoa, can’t believe one can turn Pillsbury rolls into something so impressive. Good job! (I’m drooling too)
